TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS OF RUKS COILOTRON

1. The UVGI System shall be designed to provide effective destruction and prevention of growth of bacteria, virus, mold, fungi and microbial species on the Cooling Coil. The system design and installation shall be such that the intensity of UVC rays shall envelope the entire surface area of the Cooling Coil within the high kill rate zone of the UV glow.
2. The UVGI frame shall be installed in close proximity to Cooling Coil so as to provide effective bactericidal effect on the entire surface area of the Cooling Coil and large part of the drain pan.
3. The assembly shall comprise multiple number of twin lamp fixtures, arranged in factory provided support frame. The arrangement shall allow flexibility to move the fixture in horizontal and vertical axis, to ensure entire Cooling Coil and drain pan to the extent desired, are covered effectively in the UV glow. Each fixture shall comprise two lamps. Material of the fixture shall be Aluminum casing with 86 % specular reflective Aluminum front panel.
4. The lamp shall be high output type 425 mA each, made of Quartz Glass, with specially formulated internal coating to provide nominal lamp life of 11,000 hours. The lamps shall be environmentally friendly type with low mercury content.
5. The design UVC intensity of the lamps shall be based on UVC wavelength 253.7 nM. It shall be ensured the lamp shall not perform at ultra low wavelength 180 nM or less, to ensure no uncontrolled and unmodulated ozone is put out by the lamp. Output of each lamp measured 1 M from center of each lamp shall not be less than 144 µw/cm². Combined output intensity of two lamps per fixture is not less than 288 µw/cm².
6. To optimize UV intensity and Kill Rate, entire surface of the fixture behind the lamps shall be fitted with highly reflective Aluminum mirror surface 86 % Specular Reflectivity.
7. Ballast and Terminal Block shall be factory installed within the housing of the fixture, and shall not be exposed to carry over moisture from Cooling Coil or particulate or dust in the air stream. Cable external to this shall be minimum and shall be enclosed in UL Recognized heat shrink to render it water proof. Cable terminating on lamp holder shall be fitted with bell mouth housing to cover the entire holder and shrink wrapped tight to the holder. The arrangement shall prevent completely moisture from condensation, carry over water droplets from Cooling Coil and dust particles in air stream contacting the cables or lamp holder. The bell mouth cover shall be rated for use in damp location, rated to 10,000 V, and UL Listed.
8. Each lamp together with holder shall be completely enclosed in shrink sleeve, to prevent carry over moisture from Cooling Coil and dust particles if any, to contact with lamp or holder. The sleeve also serves to hold and contain spill of mercury in the event of breakage of lamp for environmentally safe disposal, and thus prevent spill of mercury into AHU section. The shrink sleeve shall allow high transmission of UVC rays at 253.7 nM.
9. The Ballast shall be electronic type, rated for high power factor, Class P, Sound Rated A, Type 1, with internal built-in thermal protection. Each Ballast should support two lamps. Ballast shall be rated for input voltage 100 V to 270 V, Single Phase, 50/60 Hz. It shall be UL listed.
10. All wiring shall terminate on a terminal block in the frame. Field input electrical cable shall terminate on this terminal block. The terminal block shall be UL listed.
11. The lamps shall be assembled in the AHU section by grid of manufacturer provided aluminum frame comprising vertical channel sections, installed in AHU section with top and bottom support hats. Where AHU section is high, vertical sections may be extended using factory provided couplers. Each UVGI lamp assembly shall be attached to the vertical members. Material of vertical members, top and bottom hats shall be aluminum. The design of the fixing arrangement shall provide total flexibility to move the lamp fixtures in horizontal or vertical axis, with ease, to cover any part of the Cooling Coil or drain pan that does not receive adequate UVC intensity, or shows symptoms of developing mold and fungi. Top and bottom support hats shall have factory cut slot to accommodate the vertical posts. No drilling or cutting shall be required at site.
12. All installation vertical posts, coupler, top and bottom hats, and screws shall be manufacturer provided. No site provided material shall be necessary for installation of the lamp fixture in the AHU section.
13. Care must be taken to ensure no UV rays is visible from outside the AHU.
14. The installation contractor shall provide contact switch on all access doors of the AHU section where the UV fixtures are installed, to ensure the UV lamp fixtures trip and shut down in the event any AHU access door or panel is opened.
15. Factory provided warning labels must be posted on the AHU section to warn presence of UV lamps in AHU, and to turn off power prior to opening AHU doors or entering AHU section.
16. Field provided input cables shall be rated for proper voltage and current rating, and insulation shall be rated for UV rays, and shall comply to local codes. It shall be UL listed and shall comply to local codes if any.
17. Personnel entering the UV section within the AHU for any reason while the system is on shall be clothed to cover all exposed skin, head, hand, and face, and use gloves and UVC filtering eye glasses. Such safety labels shall be placed on the AHU section and in the AHU room.
18. Input voltage to the system shall be 100 to 277 V, 1 Ph, 50/60 Hz.
19. All Parts and Components of the system shall be UL Listed or Recognized.
20. Model of the UVGI System shall be CoiloTron and Make shall be Ruks Canada Ltd, Canada
