Selection of Generators

OZONE GENERATOR SELECTION CHART

SELECTION PROCEDURE

Required Information:

Area to be treated.
Height (floor to suspended ceiling) of treated space.
Intended use of the space; Eg Restaurant, Bar, Lobby etc.
Number of AHU serving the space.
  1. Enter chart A. Plot area on the Horizontal Axis.
  2. Identify the Height Line in Chart A.
  3. Draw vertical line from point located in Step 1, to intersect with Height Line.
  4. Identify the closest match to Applications Line in Chart B.
  5. From the point located in Step 3, draw horizontal line to enter Chart B and intersect with the Applications Line.
  6. From this point of intersection, draw vertical line down to Horizontal Axis. Read the machine size.
  7. If it is between two sizes, choose larger of the two.
  8. If no Application Line is intersected, divide the area into multiple number of smaller areas, repeat the Selection Procedure, and choose multiple number of generators.

EXAMPLE 1

Select Ozone Generator for a Bar.
Number of AHU is 1. Area is 2,000 Sq Ft (186 sq M). Height to ceiling is 14 Ft (4.30 M).
  1. Identify Height Line in Chart A. It is Line 1.
  2. Identify Applications Line in Chart B. It is Line 2.
  3. Enter area 2,000 Sq Ft on Horizontal Axis of Chart A.
  4. Draw vertical line to intersect with the identified Height Line (Line 1).
  5. From point of intersection, draw horizontal line to enter Chart B and intersect with the identified Applications Line (Line 2).
  6. From point of intersection, draw vertical line down to Horizontal Axis.
  7. Point of intersection on Horizontal Axis is at size K8. Choose Ozone Generator K8. Qty 1 #.

EXAMPLE 2

Select Ozone Generator for a Shopping Center.
Number of AHU is 2. Area is 12,000 sq Ft (1,115 sq M). Height to ceiling is 18 Ft (5.50 M).
  1. Area served by each AHU is 12,000 ÷ 2 = 6,000 sq ft.
  2. Select Ozone Generator for each AHU.
  3. Interpolate Height Lines 1 and 2 to obtain point for height 18 ft.
  4. Identify Applications Line in Chart B. It is Line 6.
  5. Enter 6,000 Sq Ft on Horizontal Axis of Chart A.
  6. Draw vertical line to intersect with the point on Height Line as established in Step 1.
  7. From this point of intersection, draw horizontal line to enter Chart B, and intersect with the identified Applications Line (Line 6).
  8. From point of intersection, draw vertical line down to Horizontal Axis.
  9. Point of intersection on Horizontal Axis is between size K4 and K5.
  10. Choose K5.
  11. Selection is K5. One Number for each AHU. Total for the Shopping Center is 2 # K5.
